TIIIIIIIIIIIIIM!
July 26, 2010
If you're not from Utah than you probably had no idea that Saturday was a holiday for us. It was Pioneer Day, a day we honor the pioneers who sacrificed EVERYTHING and in many cases their lives to come and settle Utah. Honestly, I don't really do anything to honor the pioneers, but I do enjoy the fireworks provided!
Seth & the sidewalk got into a fight and Seth lost.
My kids have the biggest, bluest, prettiest eyes!
I know, there's not really any fireworky pictures, but sometimes it's nice to just relax and not worry about taking pictures.

Thank you 311 for helping me forget about my kitchen table that is stained with watercolors and the cocktail of Cocoa Puffs, Captain Crunch, and Go-gurt on the floor for a couple of hours last night.
P.S. How UNCOOL is it to show up to a rock concert in a minivan? Answer: Very.

So long 888 NJV, aka Lenny, aka The Tuscon. I loved you from the moment I first saw you. Please know that if I had it my way I would have kept you, but my little family just grew right out of you. You have not been replaced in my heart. I know you went to a good home. I cried when she drove you out of sight, but the look of excitement on her face told me she would take good care of you.

My dad-in-law made me this shelf for my birthday. Cool, dontchya think?

Today was lunch with Z and my friend Tonya who has been MIA for way too long and then up to the splash park. Enjoy the photos!

We've made it three whole months with Zachary! We went from this:
Coming home from the hospital
to this:
Today
Ok, well he's not really in a forward facing seat at 3 months but me and Z and Maybe thought we'd play a trick on dad and Seth. Three whole months today. I can hardly believe it. Time is moving oh so fast. Z is totally into smiling, giggling, his hands, and putting up with a brother and sister who "love" him a little too much. I can't imagine our family without him. He just brings a smile to all of our faces! I think I'll keep him for now.
And now to play a little catch up since it's been a few days since I've written. This past Monday the cousins invited us to head out to Farm Country. Seth and Maybe loved every minute of it. Z would have rather been at home. He's such a home-body (takes after his daddy).
See...doesn't he look grumpy?
Cousins. Doesn't cousin Ellie look beautiful? I dare you to take a picture of all of them looking at the camera at the same time.
Mabes & Maren
Apparently there is something interesting happening to the right.
I'm so glad neither of my babies were afraid to ride the ponies!
And he laughed at me when I got in the fire truck on 4th of July.
Friday nights often involve pizza and movies and tonight was one of those nights. Very fun to be surrounded by my little family. Ha ha, Z looks possessed.
And lastly for today, here's few random yet very adorable pictures I found on Ryan's phone.

Whoever invented the Sunday nap should be given the Nobel Peace Prize instead of giving it to people like...well, never mind. Now you know how I stand on Sunday naps.

Finally saw Toy Story 3 today. We took all three kids and they loved it! P.S. I know of two grown men who have cried at the end of the movie and neither of them is Ryan. How about you, how many do you know of? P.P.S. I cried a little.

Today was a super busy but super fun day. All the cousins came over this morning for a pool party and then tonight was Ryan's company summer party. I had a good time, but I'm super worn out and glad it's almost bedtime.
Maybe was all tuckered out on the drive home from the work party. Wouldn't it be frustrating if you felt like you had to carry all that stuff with you everywhere you went? She doesn't seem to mind a bit.

I suppose it's time to stop being lazy and write a little bit about our Fourth of July weekend. It started Friday morning around 5:30 am (and you thought the Johnson's never got out of bed before 10) and ended around 11:00 pm Monday night.
So Ryan and I started going to the balloons a few years before we were married and always talked about how fun it would be to bring our kiddos to it some day, so the balloons are one of our family traditions.
Z's first experience at the balloons. I'm not sure he knows what to think.
A new balloon this year.
Yes, I know the fire truck was for the kiddos, but my kiddos didn't want to get in so I did. I'd never been in one before. I felt like a little kid again...
On this particular Friday morning the winds were too strong in the sky for the balloons to safely fly so we only got to see them fill up and then put them away. It was still lots of fun and we'll definitely be back next year.
Saturday night was the big fireworks show. We met up with the cousins and Gramma & Grampa Johnson. It was pretty windy and chilly, but I think everyone still had a good time.
Thanks to the cousins for providing the glow sticks.
I sure love my boys!
Oops! I guess we aimed our chairs in the wrong direction.
I LOVE cousin Maren's face here. It musta been a good one!
Z was wide awake and enjoying the show.
Why isn't Maybe sitting in her chair with the other cousins you ask? She decided this year to be afraid of the fireworks so she spent most of her time on my lap with a blanket pulled clear up over her head.
A rare photo of Ryan and his brother Nick's families together. Baby Everett was there I promise! Poor kid was in a stroller and got cut out of each of the photos.
Gramma & Grampa Johnson
Sunday, the actual 4th, was pretty low key. Ryan was sick so I took all three babies to church BY MYSELF. Not a big deal you say??? It is when they are ages 3,2, and 2 months. Thank goodness for good friends and nursery leaders who help a mother out.
Monday morning was the big town parade. Another tradition.
Last, fireworks at Gramma & Grampa's house Monday night.
I think cousin Ellie got a hold of my camera.
Z
Maybe playing it safe, far away from the action. It was nice of cousin Maren to keep her company.
It was a wonderfully fun weekend, but don't you just love it when life gets back to normal?
Tuesday was our friend Melody's birthday so she invited us over for some cake and ice cream. Melody and Maybe are just three weeks apart in age. Isn't this picture funny of all the little kids scrunched together on the bottom stair eating their cake and ice cream? And please look closely at Maybe's outfit. I don't dress her folks, she's got a style all her own.
No worries, I'm almost done for today. Last but not least Maybe had her 2 year old pictures taken today. Here is a sampling of a few of them.

If you're wondering why I'm wearing my nerd glasses in all my pictures lately it's because I have apparently developed allergies in my old age that only affects my eyes. I am not happy about this at all. Neither is Maybe.

Miss Moo managed to twirl her hair into this horrific twisted knot.
So after a week of thinking of how and trying to get it out we ended up at the salon yesterday.
She was a pro. She jumped right up into the chair all by herself
Her first cut ever.
The horrific twisted knot.
Getting her hair styled like such a big girl.
My baby girl is beautiful but I HATE the haircut. I think she looks like Ryan when he was a little boy. Seriously. Maybe's hair was unruly and long and in her face, but that's Maybe style. I miss my little ragamuffin. Oh well, it's just hair. She's still the same unruly girl no matter how her hair looks.
